Classroom Types

All registrar-managed classrooms are configured as described below. Please refer to the classrooms by type listings later on this page to see which classrooms are included.

NUflex Auto and Manual Classrooms

Classrooms equipped with NUflex technology support conferencing tools such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams and uniquely support digital flexibility by providing professional quality cameras and mics to ensure optimal video and audio quality.

  • NUflex Auto classrooms have full NUflex capabilities including the ability to have the cameras switch between active speakers.
  • NUflex Manual classrooms have cameras that may be manually switched between different views of the room.

NUflex Carts

NUflex Mobile and Studio carts are strategically placed in or around classroom locations to provide learning flexibility. Mobile carts feature a single 65″ display, while Studio carts have two 65″ displays to enable separate views for content and for video meetings.

Standard

Standard classrooms support conferencing tools such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams. To ensure optimal audio quality, instructors can request a wireless Lav microphone prior to arriving in the classroom.

Global Learning Spaces

Global Learning Spaces remove the technical barrier of virtual presenting and collaborating by being simple, easy to use, and consistent across all rooms with this technology. Classrooms include a mix of spaces with hardwired devices and carts with Teams technology. All spaces functionally operate in the same way and offer the same resources.

*Instructors can request instructor mics to amplify their voices if desired in addition to the existing mics already available in classrooms. There are three types of mics already in the classroom including ceiling mics, wireless handheld mics, and lapel mics. This will amplify the voices in the room for the benefit of students. This microphone type is not compatible with personal devices or laptops.
